Google Chrome supports the native notifications for macOS and Windows 10. If you don't want this feature, you can turn it off. This wikiHow article teaches you how to enable or disable the native notifications for Google Chrome.

Steps

  1. Launch “Google Chrome”. It is represented by the red, yellow, green, and blue circle icon.
    • If you're using Windows, make sure that your app is updated to the latest version, because this feature is only available on version 68+. If it's not, go to Menu > Help > About Google Chrome and update your Chrome app.
    • Chrome has offered support for macOS native notifications since Chrome 59.
  2. Type chrome://flags/#enable-native-notifications in the address bar and press the ↵ Enter button to continue. This will open the Google Chrome's hidden “Experiments” tab.
  3. Scroll to the “Enable native notifications” section and click on the Default box. This option will be highlighted in yellow.
  4. Select the Disabled option from the drop-down menu to turn off this feature. If you want to re-enable it, select Enabled or Default from the same menu.
  5. Relaunch your browser. Click on the RELAUNCH NOW button, at the bottom side of the page to save your changes. Your changes will take effect after you restart the browser. Finished!
