Origami bunny heads can add a burst of personality and cuteness to your room. What's more, they're bunnies that don't need care and feeding. For the times when you desire a small burst of color and fun, these bunny heads are easy and fun to make.

Steps

  1. Place a piece of 6 x 6 (15 x 15cm) paper on a flat surface.
  2. Take the top right corner of the paper and carefully fold it over to the bottom left corner. Gently press down on the paper, creasing your fold. It should form a triangle. Firmly crease the fold a few more times to secure it.
  3. Turn the triangle so that the point is going downwards, facing you.
  4. Fold down the top part of the triangle a little bit. Be careful not to fold it down too much! Firmly press on the fold and crease it.
  5. Fold the bottom point upwards a little. Be sure you have gotten both of the flaps folded and not just one. Again, try not to fold it upwards too much!
  6. Once the top and bottom points have been folded, imagine a line cutting the paper piece into half. If you find it difficult to imagine, take your pencil and lightly mark the halfway point.
  7. Fold the right side of your origami bunny downwards, matching it with the center line. The right side should not go over the line, but lie along the edge of it.
  8. Fold the left side of your origami bunny head downwards, matching it with the center line.
  9. You should have some sort of a diamond now in front of you. The right and left sides should be almost perfectly aligned.
  10. Flip the paper piece over to the other side. Turn it 180 degrees so that the bottom point of the diamond is facing towards you. The two ears (they look like two sticks) should be pointing upwards.
  11. Using your pencil, draw a bunny face on the flat surface of the piece. You should be drawing on the flat side, and not the folded side. Be creative with the bunny's face––how it looks is totally up to you.

Tips

  • For a bolder look, use a marker to draw a face onto your bunny head instead of a pencil.
  • Try using different colored papers for a different colored bunny head!
  • Have some patience, you won't be a professional first time.
  • Different measurements will provide you different sizes of bunny heads, but be sure that the sides are congruent. For example, if you have a 4x6 (10 x 15cm) square, the result will be a lopsided piece with unequal features

Warnings

  • Use appropriate caution when cutting with scissors.
