How to Pull an All Nighter with Friends

Big sleepover party coming up? Do you want it to be the best sleepover party ever? Then you and your friend/s need to pull off the "all nighter". Most people find it a struggle to stay up. If you're one of those people, then here are some tips on how to stay up really late with your friends.

Preparing Before the Sleepover

  1. Have enough sleep the day before. Also you can take naps during the day.
  2. Before the sleepover party starts buy candy. Remember to eat lots of candy that can help you keep awake. Make sure you have different types. Eating the same type can get a little boring. You may also feel sick and that's not good. Get about two or three different kinds of candy.

Having Fun During the Sleepover

  1. Get a secret stash. When you have got the candy, you need a hiding place for it. You can for ex. put it in a basket and put a small blanket over it and hide it under your bed. But you can probably think of a better way. We all have different room set ups so what ever is best for you and your friend(s).
  2. Include fruits. Have fruits low in carbohydrates. For example, apples or oranges.
  3. Avoid meats, breads and dairy.
  4. Keep drinks. You need some drinks. If you are going to have pop then only have a little. Yes, pop does have caffeine in it but also a lot of sugar that could give you a sugar high or it will just make you crash. Some healthier drinks would be juice, everybody likes juice! And the healthiest drink: Water. Wouldn't you like a refreshing glass of water?
    • Have some kind of sports drink or coffee. Coffee keeps you awake.
    • Have a fizzy drinks.
  5. Make a map. Once your friends have come, make a map of your house. Include any exits space you have such as closets, pantries, and lofts. You will need a map because you should be sneaking around in the house and be grabbing some midnight snacks, but if you make noises your parents might wake up and wonder what that bang was so, if that ever happened, just dash into a hiding spot.
  6. Games! The first thing that comes into your mind right now must be electronics. Yes a great sleepover need electronics but... the light will make you a bit sleepy so why not board games? There are many games! Clue! Life! Scrabble! Bop it!
  7. Move around a lot. Moving makes you not as tired.
  8. Narrate scary stories. Turn off the lights and grab a flash light, its time for scary stories.
  9. Play hide and go seek. Somebody is it and now you just go hide until your friend finds you.
  10. Make a movie on your Mobile device. You can download IMovie, video f. ex. live, horror movie maker and other video making apps. Decide the topic and play along.
  11. Splash water on your eyes. If you're feeling sleepy splash a little bit of cold water on your eyes. It will awaken you. As your friend to splash cold water when they feel tired. The cold water will wake them up.
  12. Have a cold shower. Take a nice cold shower. But not too cold otherwise you'll feel too cold!The coldness will give you goosebumps and they make your body awake.
  13. Make sure the room is cold. The warmness makes you cosy and tired.
  14. Gossip and play truth or dare. Those are always fun when it gets really late.
  15. Put music on. Ideally have heavy metal, rock or a pop song on since it won't soothe or calm the group.
  16. Try out many fun stuff. Change activity most of the time otherwise you will get bored which will make you sleepy.
  17. Pinch yourself. If you get too tired.

Tips

  • Make sure to get plenty of sleep the night before! You don't want to fall asleep because you did not sleep well last night!

Warnings

  • If you are a child and in grade school - ideally, don't do this on school days.
  • If you choose to sneak around in the house try not to be too loud, especially if you have younger siblings.
  • Don't do this every day. You need your sleep.
  • Do this only if your parents allow it.
