How to Make Lemon and Coriander Hummus
Hummus is a very popular food and is simple to make with lots of different variables. Lemon and coriander hummus has a great flavour and is great fun to make.
Steps

Place a sieve over a bowl and pour the can of chickpeas into the sieve. Allow the liquid to drain into the bowl.

Put the drained chickpeas into the blender.

Pour half a teaspoon of olive oil into the blender.

Spoon in three tablespoons of tahini paste into the blender.

Add in a pinch of salt. You don't necessarily need to add in salt but it is recommended.

Squeeze one lemon. Pour the juice of the lemon into the blender filtering out the seeds.

Add coriander to the blender.

Pour in a tablespoon of the liquid from the chickpeas.

Put the lid on the blender and use the pulse setting to blend the ingredients.

Add a little bit more of the chickpea liquid gradually until the mixture is smooth.

Empty the contents of the blender into a serving dish and garnish with fresh coriander.

Serve with pitta bread, falafel, breadsticks, carrots, cucumber or anything else you feel would go well with hummus.
Ingredients
- 1 can of chickpeas
- Liquid from chickpeas
- 1 tsp.olive oil
- 3 tbs. of tahini paste (sesame seed dip)
- Pinch of salt
- 1 lemon
- 1 handful of fresh coriander or 1 tsp. of dried coriander
Tips
- Only add small amounts of liquid at a time. This ensures that the mixture isn't too liquid.
Warnings
- Be aware that the blades in the blender are very sharp and can cause a serious injury.
- Always supervise young children when using the blender.
- Do not get any lemon seeds into the mixture.
