How to Quote Slack Messages on PC or Mac

Steps

1. Open Slack. It’s usually in the menu in Windows or the Applications folder on macOS. You can also sign in at https://slack.com/signin.
2. Click the channel that contains the message. Channels appear under the “Channels” header on the left side of the screen.
3. Hover your mouse over the message you want to quote. Four icons will appear at its top-right side.
4. Click ⋯.
5. Click Copy Link. The message is now copied to your clipboard, ready to be quoted.
6. Click the channel where you want to quote the message. You’ll only have to do this if you want to quote the message in a different channel.
7. Click the message box. It’s at the bottom of the channel.
8. Press Ctrl+V (PC) or ⌘ Cmd+V (Mac). This pastes the URL to the quoted message into the box.
9. Press ↵ Enter or ⏎ Return. The message is now quoted in the current channel.
