You can make a whiteboard with just white paper (or colored paper) and clear duct tape! It's a great easy and makeshift solution when there isn't a whiteboard in sight and you need to keep teaching your students.

Steps

  1. Get your paper. You may or may not want to cut it into a certain shape.
  2. Cut the tape into strips to match the size of your paper. Keep the tape as smooth as possible. Optional: use different colored duct tape or packing tape.
  3. Draw right onto the tape with a dry-erase marker! It is erasable with either a cloth or your hand.

Tips

  • If you want it to not bend around, put a piece of cardboard behind it the same size as the paper and duct tape around that too.
  • It is a good idea to use white paper so you can use any color marker you want.
  • Personalize your whiteboard. Drawings, stickers, cutouts, your name, anything! Put it on the paper first and then the tape.
  • Scotch tape will not work because of its non-glossy surface.
  • An alternative to using clear duct tape is to laminate your paper. It takes less time, but finding a laminator can be a hassle!
  • If you want to cut your erase board into shapes, cover the paper with tape first, then cut. Its so much easier.

Things You'll Need

  • Paper (white or colored)
  • Clear duct tape
  • Scissors
