Whether you are at Disneyland or Walt Disney World, or another Disney park, on select nights, you will usually find a nighttime show of some kind that will be showing. It is usually much more enjoyable, however, if you can get a good seat. Read this article to find out how you can get a decent seat for an evening event at any Disney park.

Steps

  1. Plan on seeing the show in advance. Usually, if you decide an hour beforehand that you're going to see a show, you will likely end up not getting a good seat, unless the park is not very busy. Therefore, try to look at the schedule before your trip, or at least the day before, and decide that you're going to see the show.
  2. Do your research. Whether you are going to Disneyland, Walt Disney World, or one of the other parks, research online: "The best places to view _______ (the name of what event you're seeing)". Most of the time, you will see a list of areas pop up around the park that are the best places for viewing that event. Some of them may even be lesser known, so you may not deal with as big of a crowd.
  3. Consider a dining package. At some parks, some of the shows may offer a dining package, which allows you to eat at a select restaurant, and get a guaranteed seat for the event. They may be a bit more pricey, but if you're willing to spend, then do it.
  4. Be prepared for crowds if you're going to a well-known spot. This is especially important if you arrive closer to the event time. You may get taller people in front of you, unfortunately, or you may have parents who put their kids on their shoulders. Therefore, try to pick a good spot that has little chance of getting an obstructed view, and you'll have one of the best seats.
  5. Arrive to the event early. If you want the best chance of getting a good spot, plan on arriving an hour before the event, possibly even earlier if the park is more crowded on that day. If you arrive ten minutes before the event is due to start, you're a lot less likely to get a good spot.
  6. Stay in the same area. If you must leave to do something, make sure that it's extremely quick, and try to have another member of your party stay in your spot while you go.

Tips

  • Although you may be sitting down when you arrive, for some shows, especially fireworks, you will likely want to stand up when the show begins, so keep that in mind when choosing your spot.
  • If you are having a lot of trouble finding a spot, ask a cast member for their opinion. Most of the time, they will be able to tell you where they think a good spot may be.
  • Don't feel upset if you don't get a good seat. Usually, a lot of seats can be good for some events, especially fireworks shows. If you don't get a good seat, try again for another show on another day.

Warnings

  • Be considerate of those around you. If you see a spot, but there are people right near it, do not cut right in front of them, clearly obstructing their view. If you have a child in your party, and they want to go on your shoulders, do it if there is no one directly behind you, but if there is, move to the side.
  • Be safe at all times. Do not climb onto anything that you think even in the slightest you may fall off of, and if you must leave in the middle of the show, watch where you are walking at all times if the lights are dimmed or off.
