Waking up feeling sick is no fun especially when you have to go to school for the day. You may feel even worse when you look at yourself in the mirror and you're as pale as a ghost! To avoid looking like a zombie when you're sick and still going to school, please read on.

Steps

  1. Take a shower and wash your hair. Try to fix your hair to look specially nice, to detract from the lack luster of your eyes.
  2. Look at the black rings under your eyes. Add some light foundation to cover it up. Notice that your face looks kind of colorless so add the foundation to the rest of your face, and add some blush a bit more on your cheeks, but lightly on other areas of your face.
  3. Dress like you normally would. Wear something comfortable, and colorful. Wearing bright colors can sometimes even make you feel better even if you feel sick. Choose clothing you know tends to make you look and feel good.
  4. Dress for Illness. Don't wear your tight jeans if your stomach hurts. Dress in layers if you're running a fever and are going from feeling hot to cold. If your eyes hurt from a migraine, bring your sunglasses or earplugs.
  5. Try to get into a good mood. Act talkative if that's how you usually are. Smile no matter what so that nothing will appear to be wrong.
  6. Take something to feel better. Take some medicine.
  7. Bring some things with you. Be prepared and bring things that you might need, like tissues, cough drops, bottled water or even juice so you can make it through the day.
  8. Take care of yourself as best as possible. Eat and drink healthy, wholesome food if you can. Apple juice is usually easiest on a queasy stomach. Relax outside in the grass or in the library when possible. If you have a free period, see if you can rest in the nurse's office. Allow that you're not going to be your best and be easy on yourself.

Tips

  • If you start to feel really bad at school, go to the school nurse, you might be coming down with something more serious than just a cold or a stomach ache.

Warnings

  • Never take too much medicine. Make sure that you are taking the right amount and that you know how to take medicine. Try to get an older sibling or an adult to help you if you are younger.
  • If you really feel sick and have a fever, then stay home. You will only feel worse as the day goes on, and you could also get everyone else sick.
