If the Christmas rush is upon you, and you need to stock up on the Christmas treats, mixing up a batch of Peanut Snowballs will help fill up your Christmas treat larder. Best of all, this recipe is easy enough for the kids to join in the Christmas cooking fun.

  1. Add sugar, peanut butter and butter to a mixing bowl. Use a cooking spoon to mix the ingredients together until the mixture is smooth and malleable.
  2. Tear off a piece of waxed paper (you could also use parchment paper) long enough to cover the baking sheet you plan to use. Line the baking pan with waxed paper.
  3. Pick up a ball of dough with your hands. Shape the dough into a 1-inch ball. Place the ball of dough onto the wax paper lined baking sheet. Repeat until all the dough is shaped into 1-inch balls.
  4. Open the refrigerator door, and place the baking sheet, filled with prepared dough balls, into the refrigerator. Chill the dough for about 30 minutes, or until firm.
  5. Add candy coating or almond bark to microwave-safe bowl. Melt candy coating or almond bark following package directions. The package directions usually state to stir the mixture, every 30 seconds, until the mixture is melted and smooth. Some microwave ovens have a “melt” feature and you can use that feature, if desired.
  6. Dip the balls in melted candy mixture. Place the dipped candy balls onto the waxed paper. Use a fork or candy dipper to dip the candies.
  7. Sprinkle the tops of dipped candies with sugar sprinkles, if desired.
  8. Return the dipped candies to the refrigerator to chill and set up.
